During literacy month students were able to
participate in a multitude of activites varying from: D.E.A.R. (Drop
Everything And Read), partner reading, parents coming into read to the class (a
very special thanks to Mr. Arama and Mr. Goloborodsky for participating) and a
visit from an author who specializes in Jewish children’s books . DEAR is a
period of time during the day when students read independently for about 30
minutes.
We also celebrated Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. All of
the students from K-3rd made various Dr.
Seuss themed hats (third grade made Thing 1 and Thing 2 hats) in
preparation for a special assembly led by Morah Kathy. During the assembly Morah
Kathy read aloud several Dr. Seuss favorites.
